Voting Rights Project is a timely, collaborative devised theatre performance created in the urgent style of the Federal Theatre Project’s historic Living Newspaper. Fusing historical documents, speeches, songs, and modern headlines, this studio piece traces the evolution of American suffrage—from the nation’s founding documents and the Civil Rights Movement to current Supreme Court rulings and ongoing voting restriction debates—to creatively respond to the challenges facing democracy today.

A stirring and Pulitzer-winning drama, Picnic takes place in the joint backyards of two widows during the Labor Day holiday in a small Kansas town in the 1950s, where the appearance of a handsome outsider upends their life. One house belongs to Flo Owens, who lives there with her two daughters, Madge and Millie, along with a schoolteacher boarder. The other house belongs to Helen Potts, who lives with her elderly invalid mother. When the young man named Hal Carter takes a shine to Madge, their sudden passion for each other disrupts the mundane routines of both houses, causing long-dormant desires to explode with ramifications of love and heartbreak that no one expects.

Revived in 1998 to acclaim at New York’s Lincoln Center, Ah, Wilderness! is a sharp departure from the gritty reality of the author’s renowned dramas. Taking place over the July 4th weekend of 1906 in an idyllic Connecticut town, it offers a tender, retrospective portrait of small town family values, teenage growing pains, and young love.

Angels in America – Part One: Millennium Approaches is the first half of Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play that explores the intersecting lives of several New Yorkers in the mid-1980s, during the height of the AIDS crisis and amidst the social and political tensions of the Reagan era. It follows the intersecting lives of six main characters—including a gay man with AIDS abandoned by his partner, a closeted Mormon lawyer, and a ruthless powerbroker—culminating when an angel crashes through a ceiling to declare a prophet. The play intertwines politics, religion, sexuality, and identity in a deeply human and often surreal narrative. Angels in America Part One and Two , directed by Bruce Roach, will return to Rarig Center’s Stoll Thrust Theatre as the BFA Acting Program Class of 2027’s final presentation from April 23- May 2, 2027.
