Pickup Truck Opera: Tales of Hoffmann

Mixed Precipitation's eighteenth outdoor summer season reimagines Offenbach's 1881 opera as a futuristic picnic operetta, staged off the back of a blue Ford Ranger. Hoffmann, a travelling poet, chases love and inspiration through a world overrun by technology, meeting ghosts, robots, magicians and a shape-shifting demon along the way. "The Barcarolle" and "The Doll Song" sit alongside grunge-era covers of Courtney Love, Tori Amos, Offspring and Deadeye Dick. Bring a lawn chair. All ages.
